Authority Bias

Users tend to trust and follow advice from perceived experts more than others.

Definition

Do

  • Rely solely on authority figures, ignoring user's personal needs and preferences

When to apply

  • When users need guidance or advice
  • When users are uncertain about their decisions
  • When the product or service is complex or technical
